Gustau Alegret

Media and Public Relations Specialist

 

Gustau Alegret is a journalist and corporate communications specialist.  He has developed a passion for communications during his 10 years of professional experience as a journalist, consultant, and the head of Communications in the Ministry of Commerce, Tourism and Consumer Affairs of the Catalonian Government in Spain.  Due to his strong journalism background and his government experience, he is thoroughly familiar with all forms of institutional communications such as presentations, studies, reports, press releases, fact sheets, and media relations management.

 

Moreover, due to his international experience in governance and institutional development, Gustau Alegret is a specialist in building cross-cultural communications using his language skills and business expertise.  In addition, he is well-versed in the intricacies of handling highly sensitive information and issues.  Nowadays he works as a consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) at its headquarters in Washington, DC, in the framework of a governance and internal communication project.

 

Gustau Alegret graduated from Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona, Spain) with a major in Journalism.  He also studied at the University of Barcelona, with a focus on world history.  He received a master's degree in Strategic Communication Management from ESADE Business School.  In addition, he has a Certificate in Business Administration and Professional English from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.

 

Gustau Alegret is a guest professor at the Escuela de Administración de Empresas [Business Management School] in Barcelona, Spain and at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in the Dominican Republic, where he teaches a course in political communication and lobbying.
